To contact Peter Breggin, M.D.
Dr. Peter Breggin continues to see patients in his office in Ithaca, New York.  He prefers to accept those who live relatively nearby in central New York State and the Finger Lakes region.
Dr. Peter Breggin apologizes in advance for his inability to respond to the large volume of referral queries about medications, and individual problems.  If you have specific questions about medications, please try to find the answers on the website or in Dr. Peter Breggin's books. Dr. Breggin’s most comprehensive and up-to-date book is the new edition of Brain-Disabling Treatments in Psychiatry: Drugs, Electroshock and the Psychopharmaceutical Complex (Springer Publishing Company, New York, 2008). The new edition contains specific information about every type of psychiatric drug and most individual drugs that are currently being prescribed. It describes how to safely withdraw from psychiatric drugs with information about withdrawal problems associated with specific medications. It also describes guidelines for psychotherapy and counseling without resort to psychiatric medications. The new edition also provides broader critiques of psychiatric drugs, electroshock treatment (ECT), and the psychopharmaceutical complex.
